Here are some assorted photos of the dismantling of the mold. After actually taking the mold apart we needed to clean each section out with wooden tools along with mineral spirits. The mold is now safely in the hands of the foundry and in the casting process.Before we took the mold apart we had design a "code" so the foundry could keep the 75 pieces in order.

i love puzzles, so how many different pieces were there that the foundry has to put together???
16 plaster shells for sand casting, approx: 25+/- rubber sections supported by 100+ sections of "mother mold".
Plaster shells were numbered, rubber was given a letter and the corralating(sp) shell pieces were given that letter + numbers. IE:
D-1, D-2 etc.
